Hi there! First of all, thank you for your interest. I'm Maria - a 22-year old girl from Stockholm, Sweden. I'm currently studying to get into a university. If everything goes as planned, will I sometime soon start studying at a university somewhere in the world to become a veterinary. It's surely a lot of work becoming one but it has been a dream of mine since I was a child.
I've always been very interested in movies and that's one of the reasons, beside Penélope Cruz's career itself, that I made this fansite. Other actors whose work I enjoy are Lena Headey, Uma Thurman, Vera Farmiga, Robert de Niro and Robert Carlyle. Besides watching movies and making fansites am I a sucker for books - I read and write a lot. Some of my favorite authors are Pär Lagerkvist, Dostojevskij, Johanna Nilsson and Kafka.
I first noticed Penélope in Vanilla Sky and the other work she did in USA and I always liked her as an actress, but it wasn't untill I saw Volver in 2006 that I was stuck. In fact did Penélope and the movie inspire me so much that I decided to take up the little Spanish I learned in high school and I'm enjoying it a lot.
I see Penélope as one of the most talented actresses today and consider her my favorite actress! She has so many great performances behind her and hopefully many to come in the future and she seems to be a very warm and caring person. Which I think is a lacking quality in general these days.
