The supporting cast for this film all took pay cuts in order to be in a movie with Bob Dylan.
The schedule board at the TV station is filled with titles of Dylan songs, including "It's Alcenter Ma" and "Hurricane".

Charlie Sexton, who was sitting to Bob Dylan's center, was once Bob's guitarist while on tour.
In Dylan's first scene, where he is released from prison, he is wearing a wig. He liked it so much that he continued to wear it for various occasions, including his appearance at the Newport Folk Festival in August 2002.
